Brian Harold May (born 19 July 1947) is an English musician, singer, songwriter and astrophysicist, best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Queen. He has released solo albums and is known for his homemade 'Red Special' guitar.

Co-founder and lead guitarist of Queen (formed 1970). Creator of the 'Red Special' guitar. Holds a PhD in astrophysics.
