.. Lei venne. Mi trovò da solo e piuttosto arrapato. Ammiccava, era disponibile, il sesso non tardò ad impadronirsi di noi.. ci divertimmo per un periodo, dopodichè.. tanti saluti.
Allo stesso modo, con lo stesso amico.. poco tempo fa mi ritrovai a discutere di nuove uscite discografiche :
"Che ne dici dell'ultimo degli Avenged Sevenfold?"
"Chi?? .. no ti prego, quei tizi non li sopporto!"
"Si è vero.. "Nightmare" non ti cambierà la vita, ma è da ascoltare.. fidati!"
"E vabbò.. ascoltiamolo.. "
Non tutto mi piace. Il cantante ha la voce troppo nasale, i riff mi sanno di già sentito.. ma .. certi groove non mi lasciano indifferente ("Natural Born Killer").
La potenza della title track e di "God Hates Us" spaccano il culo. E poi.. Synister Gates e Zacky Venegeance non sono propriamente due fessacchiotti alla chitarra.. ("Buried Alive" e "Save Me"); per non parlare della guest star alla batteria : Mr. Portnoy in prestito dai Dream Theater.
Insomma: questo album ha un suo perché. Inoltre rispetto al passato, che ammetto di conoscere poco, hanno sviluppato un discreto gusto per le composizioni melodiche, riscontrabile nella bella "Buried Alive", nella quasi acustica "So Far Away" e soprattutto in "Tonight World Dies" (atmosfere prese in prestito dagli Alice in Chains). La canzone che preferisco è però "Victim": ...godetevela!

..Non so per quanto tempo mi farà divertire.. se più o meno quanto quella lì.. ma anche stavolta non è stata una perdita di tempo.

Il singolo "Nightmare", per quanto efficace e di impatto, è un bel pugno allo stomaco retta da una produzione che dire eccellente è poca.
Vi esorto a guardare oltre... dovremmo essere felici di vedere del sano rock nelle charts americane dominate dal pop e dall’hip pop.
