Dopo un finale strepitoso con i Roxy Music, con l’uscita di "Avalon" dove possiamo estrapolare un gioiello come "More Than This", e l’uscita di vari album da solista, nel 1985, Ferry si butta su una creazione unica nel suo genere degna della sua personalità: "Boys and Girls" a riflesso di "Avalon", ma personalizzato single, dove sfoggia un’esaltazione alla bellezza femminile di cui è sempre stato circondato, con grande splendore di signorilità accoppiata alla seduzione, traducendo il suono in ritmo caldo e pulito, la stessa sensazione che si prova nel vedere gli scatti fotografici di Helmut Newton.
I successivi album saranno sullo stesso buon stile "Ferry", ma "Boys and Girls" lo consiglio più di tutti gli altri, è ideale da ascoltare in buona compagnia, ma anche quando si è soli, quando si vuole trovare una carica del proprio io, maschio o femmina che sia.
Per questo album si è avvalso della collaborazione di ottimi musicisti, dal mitico Tony Levin, a Marcus Miller a Mark Knopfler a David Gilmour e Brian Eno.
Se volete provare qualcosa che avete perso di voi negli anni ei fu passati e strada facendo nel solito caos e tram tram quotidiano, se volete ritrovare una spinta forte e limpida, di classe e raffinatezza, se volete trovare emozioni epidermico-sentimentali, allora non perdetevi "Boys and Girls" e comunque, figli a seguito…
Vedrete che dopo il primo ascolto, poi non potrete farne a meno di riascoltarlo e riascoltarlo nuovamente sia in momenti buoni che in momenti meno buoni, in momenti freddi e in momenti… caldi, perché sarà intrigante e "eccitante".
Allora accendete a tutto volume ovunque voi siete, chiudete gli occhi, rilassatevi e lasciatevi trasportare e… mi saprete dire…
