Se devo dire qual'è stato il mio primo album Brutal Death metal che ho ascoltato bé direi che è proprio questo: "Evisceration Plague". Prima di ascoltare quest'album ho fatto giro su Internet per sapere qualcosa in più su la band in questione, ovvero i Cannibal Corpse. Ho ascoltato qualche canzone però non avevano attirato particolarmente la mia attenzione, perché non riuscivo a digerirle per la loro brutalità e per la pesantezza. Allora ho aspettato un po' di tempo prima di ascoltare l'album. Un giorno non sapendo cosa fare volevo ascoltarmi qualcosa di pesante, ma non di nuovo i vecchi classici del metal estremo: "Reign in Blood", "Seven Churches", "Scream Bloody Gore"... ma qualcosa di nuovo e così mi è capitato questo "Evisceration Plague", undicesimo album in studio per la band statunitense.
Il primo impatto che ho avuto è stato a dir poco devastante: i riff di chitarra che aprono l'album con "Priests of Sodom" sono i più pesanti e violenti che ho ascoltato (per il momento), gli assoli sono veloci e taglienti come dei rasoi (la title-track, "To Decompose", "Carrion Sculpted Entity") e alcuni massicci e pesanti che sono dei pugni dritti nello stomaco ("A Cauldron of Hate", "Carnivorous Swarm"). E una batteria così veloce e sparata a 1000 Km/h non l'ho mai sentita in vita mia.
L‘unica pecca che ha quest'album è che ci sono dei "filler" che fanno da riempitivo all'album e sono: "Beheading and Burning", "Unnatural", "Skewered from Ear to Ear"; senza queste sarebbe stato un'ottimo album.
Nel complesso questo "Evisceration Plague" è un buon album che può piacere ai veri fan del metal estremo, se invece cercate un metal più "pulito" e tecnico non fa al caso vostro.
