Il ritorno sulla scena di Kim Wilde merita sicuramente considerazione.
Il nuovo lavoro, che arriva ben 11 anni dopo gli ultimi inediti, si compone di 8 pezzi nuovi, freschi , con sonorita' decisamente attuali integrarti con brani di repertorio completamente ristrutturati, il che rende il progetto piacevole all'ascolto anche delle orecchie piu' esigenti. Tra i rifacimenti oltre a "you came " ( 1°singolo ) che merita , si fanno notare "you keep me hangin'on" in duetto con la cantante tedesca Nena e "view from a bridge" che non sente per nulla il peso dei nni che si porta sulle spalle.
Minore invece "cambodia" che tra i pezzi 80 di Kim e' uno dei piu' belli e che invece qui diventa un semplice remix da discoteca che seppur curato da Paul Oakenfold non riesce a dare valore aggiunto al disco. Gli inediti sono invece dalla forte impronta rock. "Perfect girl" gia' annunciata come prossimo singolo potrebbe essere un gran successo se promozionato in maniera adeguata mentre "lost without you" rende onore alla miglior tradizione delle ballad rock. Strizza l'occhio alla dance "forgive me "che e' decisamente promossa e che come stile si rifa' all'ultimo lavoro di Madonna, mentre nell'accattivante ed energica "Maybe i'm crazy" riecheggia con convinzione l'esperienza passata di Kim, importante per i nostalgici non troppo propensi al nuovo.
"I fly" per sonorita'avrebbe potuto essere incisa tranquillamente dai Blur. Minori "game over" e "Together we belong". La sorpresa comunque del disco e'che la Wilde (come sempre co-autrice) non e' piu' la cantante pop dall'immagine patinata della fine 80 inizio 90 ne quella new wave degli esordi (ben 25 anni fa e 35.000.000 di dischi venduti orsono) ma una vera pop star in grado di spiegare a tutte le starlette attuali come si fa il pop, di spaziare in tutte le sue sfaccettature rimanendo sempre all'altezza e di cantare dal vivo (you came acustica su you tube dimostra) ancora con grande intonazione e voce pulita e potente.
