Uh-oh! Ci fanno notare che questa recensione compare anche (tutta o in parte) su "I 500 dischi fondamentali del rock" del Mucchio Extra.
L'hit piu' improbabile degli anni '90 ?
Bisogna pensarci a lungo e poi scegliere fra un elenco invero consistente, siccome nel decennio che abbiamo salutato 6 anni fa non sono stati pochi i successi assolutamente impronosticabili all'uscita. Ma se ci si chiede quale sia stato il brano che negli anni '80 ha suscitato , con il suo sbancare le classifiche, maggiore stupore, "O superman" sbaraglia la scarsa concorrenza con facilita' illusoria: otto minuti e ventuno secondi di voce recitante su un minimalissimo fondale di gradicidante elettronica, stressante immersione in apnea negli abissi dell'inconscio collettivo americano (infinitesimale frammento delle quasi otto ore di una performance multimediale chiamata United states I-IV ), in bilico fra mistero e satira.
Angoscia squarciata da un sorriso che balena all'improvviso:
"...quando l'amore non c'e' piu'rimane sempre la forza. E quando la forza non c'e' piu', rimane sempre la giustizia. E quando la giustizia non c'e' piu' rimane sempre la mamma....".
Ed è forse tutto qui il segreto il segreto di Laurie Anderson: nel cuore pulsante di calda umanita'al centro di musiche che comunque nel proseguo di carriera (grande Mister Heartbreaker del 1984; poi Strange Angels dell'89, e Bright Red, del '94) si faranno piu' accessibili. Mai l'avanguardia era parsa cosi' vicina alla vita, ai sogni, alle paranoie dell'uomo comune. Fra essenzialita' strutturale ed esuberanza contenutistica.
'Big Science' è rado intreccio di voci filtrate e tastiere solenni, percussioni discrete, flauto, sassofano e un violino pensate un po' inventato dalla stessa Laurie, con un nastro al posto dell'archetto e una testina magnetica in luogo delle corde.
La frase incisa sul nastro è: "ethics is the estethics of the future".
Proprio dal futuro sembra ancora giungere, a quasi 25 anni dall'uscita, questo album... sta rec mi è costata fatica.... se non volete prendermi per il culo lasciate commenti.. altrimenti... lasciateli uguale.. tanto il sexy teen sta sempre qui.. con voi... bella
