In 1992, Booker T. & The MGs were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 1995, when the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame opened its museum in Cleveland, Ohio, the MGs served as the house band for the opening all star concert.
Steve Cropper has also been inducted in The Songwriters Hall of Fame. 
In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine named the group on their list of the Greatest Artists of All Time, and in 2007, the group received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
