Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention

Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention nascono a metà anni ’60 a Los Angeles. Debuttano con Freak Out! (1966) su Verve e proseguono con album cardine come Absolutely Free, We’re Only in It for the Money, Uncle Meat e Cruising with Ruben and the Jets. La formazione originale si scioglie nel 1969 e rinasce come The Mothers fino al 1975, con un sound che fonde rock, jazz e musica contemporanea e una marcata vena satirica.
