Chi veglia su di me? Questo disco o piace o non piace ed è anche fin troppo facile da definire, per questo terzetto di Bristol (casa dei Massive Attack, Portishead, James Lavelle-Mo'Wax) che esiste già dal 1992. Per decrivere i Mesh è presto detto: Human League, The Sparks, Depeche Mode, un poco poco di New Order in qualche suono, poi qualche ritmo ossessivo da house tedesca. È classico sinth pop degli eighties. Nulla di piú nulla di meno. Però la rilettura è fatta bene, bei testi, che stanno in piedi (nostra lyric preferita " I fell in love with a photograph...", curati, come pure la musica. È un divertissment. E ovviamente c'è anche il "drama", il drama camp dei dischi summenzionati. IL drama tutto eighties. Ed è tutto lucido. Questo è quanto. Piacevole anche se non lascerà il segno da nessuna parte. Lo vogliamo sentire alla radio e pensare agli anni ottanta. Queste riletture non avvengono solo in Italia.
