Con la pubblicazione di questo album ha inizio per Mortiis (ex Emperor) una sorta di seconda fase. Lasciate le sonorita ambient/folk medievali ritroviamo il folletto verso orizzonti più Electro-Industrial, che riportano in mente gruppi come: Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails. Tuttavia nell'album sono presenti brani come "Scar Trek/Parasite God" e sono sufficienti per capire se l'album potra piacervi o meno. Se vi è piaciuto continuate con l'ascolto; se no, concedetegli un'altra possibilità. La seconda traccia dell'album è "Flux/Mental Maelstorm"; se non vi è piaciuta vi consiglio di fermarvi perchè non credo possa interessarvi dal momento che l'album si mantiene sempre costante con il genere. Per chi ha apprezzato il nuovo sound del folletto trovera tracce intessanti come "Monolith", "Spirit In A Vacuum" , "Smell The Withc" (secondo me la traccia più riuscita e piu ritmica), "Everyone Leaves" e "Marshland".
Da apprezzare il coraggio impiegato da Mortiis per la pubblicazione di questo album, diverso dai suoi precedenti (io l'ho apprezzato molto).
Consiglio ai fans di vecchia data di Mortiis, ai fans dei Nine Inch Nails e a tutti quanti volessero ascoltare qualcosa di diverso, l'acquisto di questo disco... non ne rimarrete delusi.

Mortiis
Mortiis è il progetto del musicista norvegese Håvard Ellefsen, ex membro degli Emperor. Pioniere del dungeon synth/dark ambient negli anni ’90, ha poi abbracciato sonorità electro‑industrial e industrial rock con album come The Smell of Rain e The Grudge.
