Ho 17 anni, provengo da Dream Theater, Jethro Tull e Pink Floyd, appassionato dei Gallagher, recensisco Paul Weller (strano il rock nè!?!?).
Sto ascoltando per la prima volta il disco di "Zio Paul" mentre scrivo al mio Mac. Non sarà una critica tecnica la mia, ma emotiva! Un album che ti trascina, ti prende, ti fa cantare e muovere le dita a tempo... Mi occupo di emozioni IO! Dai Rolling Stone agli Oasis, passando per Elvis e i Traffic! (Noel Gallagher e Steve Windwood hanno per altro collaborato con Paul)... questo è "Stanley Road". Siamo nel 1995 e Weller, abbandonata ormai l'esperienza da collezzionista di farfalle nei The Jam, scrive questi dodici pezzi Rock Pop (stile generico) divertenti, emozionanti, inglesi. Non ci trovo un cavallo di battaglia nell'album, un album che scivola via, leggero, proprio come deve essere un buon album...
Ho comprato il CD incuriosito dalle foto di Paul insieme agli Oasis, e mi chiedo come in Italia non sia conosciuto... sono rimasto scioccato da "Stanley Road" e mi vergogno di non averlo scoperto prima, d'ora in poi sarò un interessante viaggio alla conquista di questo artista!
