Inutile dirvi chi sono i Queen, (mi prendereste a sassate solo per avervelo detto), infatti vorrei parlarvi in special modo di un album in particolare; non molto apprezzato e nemmeno molto ascoltato a mio avviso!
Ebbene l'album in questione è l'ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK del film 'FLASH GORDON'; colonna sonora eseguita interamente dai mitici Queen, nell'ormai lontano 1980. Premetto che per sviluppare la seguente opinione sull'album in questione, l'avro' ascoltato un centinaio di volte nel corso di un'intero decennio, da quando ne sono entrato in possesso per l'appunto!
L'album è molto variegato e con mille sfaccettature, direi anche contemplativo in alcuni tratti. I generi musicali in cui spazia sono molto ampi e ben diversi tra loro, solo un gruppo del calibro dei Queen ha potuto attuare una cosa simile; si va dalle melodie enfatiche e lisergiche della track list (In the space capsule) per poi approdare alle ipnotiche tonalita' di (Ming's Them & The ring). Passando per track list da orchestre sinfoniche e arrivando alla finale (Flash's Theme Reprise/The hero); quest'ultima una track list caratterizzata innegabilmente dal tipico rock/punkeggiante in perfetto stile anglosassone (da sottolineare anche alcuni riff di chitarra che fanno ricondurre al tipico sound heavy dei primissimi anni ottanta, quando ancora l'heavy metal non era un genere del tutto ben definito; anni 80/81)!!
A mio avviso questo resta uno degli album piu' belli e pieno di sentimenti, che i Queen abbiano mai fatto, lo colloco al podio nella mia classifica personale dettata dai miei gusti in ambito Queen. Consiglio di ascoltare questo imperdibile lavoro della mitica band britannica, solo dopo la visione dell'omonimo film; vi garantisco che sara'come vedervelo ad occhi chiusi. Un'avventurosa cavalcata lunga poco piu'di 35 min.
