“Avalon” UNO dei più bei capolavori sentimentali degli anni ’80 e indubbiamente IL capolavoro in assoluto dei Roxy Music.
Bryan Ferry l’Artista più sensuale e affascinante di tutti i tempi, trascinatore di sentimenti, maschio incorruttibile, calamita ipnotica.
Questo Album ha la sua storia, è stato voluto in onore di John Lennon appena assassinato, quindi un inno al ricordo, al rispetto con finezza ed eleganza.
E’ una sorta di intervento al cuore, grazie a Bryan non c’è gruppo che sia stato capace di eguagliare le particolari capacità naturali eccelse di seduzione, sensualità, sesso, classe, e sofisticatezza inglobandole in melodie soft-rock-pop, ogni brano ha il profumo e la fragilità di un fiore raro in via di estinzione, ogni traccia è un petalo di delicatezza, e questo fastoso bouquet chiuderà una illustre e onorevole carriera.
In copertina il falco con il suo guerriero, impavidi scrutano l’orizzonte a calar del sole nell’attesa della luce di un nuovo giorno.
L’unione di carne e anima generano la forza dello spirito, ogni traccia ha una sua unica risonanza ambientale.
Trionfale apertura “More Than This”, solare, freschissimo, nobile, movimenti sensuali, pelle contro pelle, labbra contro labbra
"The Space Between” chitarra elettrica, basso e sax si legano alla voce di Bryan in un ritmo cadenzato e prolungato
“Avalon” fluttuante, penetrante, lento, tanto lento sotto una luna piena, percepibili tastiere, e la voce lieve di Etienne Yanick
“India” breve traccia strumentale, sensazione di un ricordo lontano scandito da tamburelli che echeggiano l’oriente
“While My Heart Is Still Beating” piena di pathos, romantica, elegante, sax in metamorfosi.
“The Main Thing” movimento erotico-sensuale in arrivo, nudi sotto la doccia, lasciarsi coccolare dall’acqua calda che scivola sul corpo.
“Take e Chance With Me” percussioni, sintetizzatori clarinetto in marcia pronti per esplodere in un ritmo travolgente e addomesticato
“To Turn You On” piatti, percussioni, la sottile e angelica voce di Bryan conduce degli alti e bassi molto soft
“True To Life” un viaggio tranquillo su una macchina decappottata
“Tara” brevissimo sax e le onde che si infrangono sugli scogli al tramonto.
Sublime è la ricerca di originalità e gusto melodico, crea una perla di talento che fa la differenza.
E non c’è tempo o età per amare tutti i tipi di musica, infatti questa recensione la dedico a mia madre che ha 73 anni perché nelle vene gli scorre “More Than This” a tal punto di ritenerla la sua canzone prediletta e portarla all’ascolto ripetuto e continuo senza sorta di stanchezza e stucchevolezza, guai se non tengo il cd in macchina quando sono con Lei.
