Avete presente quei cd che si inseriscono nel lettore la sera prima di addormentarsi, prima di fantasticare, e prima di sognare? Ecco "Long Gone Before Daylight" è uno di quelli.
A cinque anni dal buon “ Gran Turismo” i Cardigans fanno uscire il loro nuovo lavoro, ma subito sentiamo che qualcosa è cambiato. Dopo avere partecipato a un progetto esterno con Mark Linkous (Mr Sparklehorse) Nina Persson è diretta verso un suono più chitarristico: meno elettrico e più acustico. Impossibile non innamorarsi (di lei e) della sua voce; impossibile non innamorarsi dei suoi(?) testi dolci e profondi che fanno da eco a splendide ballate…
“Oh, my heart can't carry much more, It's really, really aching and sore, My heart don't care anymore, I really can't bear more… My hands don't work like before, I shiver and I scrape at your door, My heart can't carry much more... But you couldn't care less, could you?”
Respiriamo un aria invernale, a tratti nostalgica,malinconica; peccato che tutte le canzoni non siano come "Communication", "For What It’s Worth" o "Couldn’t Care Less"…

The Cardigans
The Cardigans sono un gruppo svedese formato a Jönköping nel 1992 da Peter Svensson e Magnus Sveningsson, completato da Nina Persson, Bengt Lagerberg e Lars-Olof Johansson. Hanno raggiunto il successo internazionale con Lovefool (1996) e l’album First Band on the Moon; hanno poi virato verso sonorità più cupe ed elettroniche con Gran Turismo (1998) e più acustiche con Long Gone Before Daylight (2003), proseguendo con Super Extra Gravity (2005).06 Recensioni
