Cosa succede quando nel Regno Unito un genere musicale comincia a prendere piede? Ovviamente tutti lo seguono, con risultati più o meno riusciti. Stiamo parlando del post-punk. Prima vennero i The Libertines, poi a ruota The Others, Razorlight, Futurheads, Art Brut, The Rakes, poi si sciolsero i The Libertines e nacquero i mediocri Babyshambles.

01 Some Old Girl (03:04)
All the strangers that we've seen tonight
Does it seem absurd?
You can never say you've seen the light
You're something special
A prophet to let for for world
You're some old girl
You're some old girl
Some old girl
You can maybe do it to yourself
Does it seem absurd?
You can never say you've seen the light
You're something special
A prophet to let for the world
Some old girl
You can stick around here
But you never seem to let it all go
All the strangers that we've seen tonight
Did it seem absurd?
You can never say you've seen the light
You're something special
A prophet to let for for world
You're some old girl
You're some old girl
Some old girl
Some old girl
Some old girl
Some old girl
03 50 to a £ (03:03)
How can you deal with the pain
All alone by the window, how can I complain
The light really shines over you
But if you're breaking your back
Do you know these things are true
And when you are coming down
It doesn't matter 'bout you
It doesn't matter 'bout you
One night of madness
You can look straight into these eyes
Turns into sadness
You walk away, it's not your crime
Your blood will thicken
Boil to the point step in line
With no aggravation you'll step in line
You'll get your time
You'll get your time
Did you ever feel we're the same
Now we've fallen apart
And I tell you we can't complain
And then you lay down the law for me
If it's right or wrong
Well we'll just have to wait and see
04 Worse For Wear (02:32)
You left her out and used her
Worse for wear
You can't control it but the ones you think you notice cannot care
Don't laugh about it, think you, think you know
Make up your mind, do you want it fast
Or we can take it a little slow
They told me everything that she knows
They told me everything that she knows
So bad tempered and so in your face
No need to worry whats coming or if I'm in the right place
What will do you when, where will go you
Who what when why and when
There are so many things I'd like to know
They told me everything that she knows
They told me everything that she knows
Do you know which way to go?
Do you know which way to go?
I wanna go home
They told me everything that she knows
They told me everything that she knows
They told me everything that she knows
They told me everything that she knows
05 Loser (02:14)
No fuss, no fumes, another line to do
Just one drink or maybe another
The wrong way or right way is all up to you
But they never say
Yeah they never say
Anything about it
I'm a loser if you say so
Say so, honey
I'm a loser if you say so
Say so, honey
I'm a loser if you say so
Say so, honey
But don't take it out on me
They gonna try and tell me what they're gonna do
I don't mean to be rude
I've never believed in the hypocrite view
But they never say
Yeah they never say
Anything about it
I'm a loser if you say so
Say so, honey
I'm a loser if you say so
Say so, honey
I'm a loser if you say so
Say so, honey
But don't take it out on me
I'm a loser if you say so
Say so, honey
I'm a loser if you say so
Say so, honey
I'm a loser if you say so
Say so, honey
But don't take it out on me
06 Panic Attack (03:29)
If you wanna die
Go on and commit suicide
You wanna live I know
You gotta get em by the throat
If you wanna die
Go on, keep commiting suicide
You wanna live don't you?
Well I do too
But you don't know, don't know she cares
If you say so, but it's not quite fair
So anyway, anyway she'll leave me alone
So anyway, you said so yourself so no
You two decide
Choose when if you wanna stay alive
Keep yourself in my eye
Don't say that you cannot see inside
You wanna die
Go on commit suicide
You wanna live dont you?
Well I do too
But you don't know,and I don't know she cares
And she said so, but she's not quite there
I said anyway, anyway you leave me alone
Anyway you said so yourself so no
07 Tommy's Disease (03:32)
He said he's got his name on it
Well I don't think he's getting in
The problem in his mind, he needed alibis
They all question what he said
And she didn't listen to what he said
An idol to do what he was dared
They took him out and put him down
He's on the floor
They swiped his money and took his score
You'll never know what's going on
You'll never know what is right and what is wrong
You told them lies, you break the rules
But false allegations is something else
That's not the ru-u-u-ules
He said he's got his name on it
I don't think he's getting it
The problem in his mind, he needed suicide
They all question what he said
I'm sure they said
You'll never know what's going on
You'll never know what is right and what is wrong
You told them lies, you break the rules
False allegations
You'll never know what's going on
You'll never know what is right and what is wrong
You told them lies, you break the rules
But false allegations is something else
That's not the rules
You'll never know what's going on
You'll never know what is right and what is wrong
You told them lies, you break the rules
False allegations is something else
That's not the rules
08 Stop Breathing (02:18)
He told me what to do.
I told him where to go.
He looks the other side.
Caught up on the bedroom wall.
Tried to put me down.
I don't know what to do.
He looks the other side.
He didn't have a single clue.
I was better to kill him,
gonna stop him from breathing.
I was better to kill him.
gonna stop him from breathing.
He thought he was my friend
Didn't like him a little bit.
He came down because he was here.
How I wish he'd disappear.
I was better to kill him,
gonna stop him from breathing.
I was better to kill him.
gonna stop him from breathing.
I was better to kill him,
gonna stop him from breathing.
I was better to kill him.
gonna stop him from breathing.
I was better to kill him,
gonna stop him from breathing.
I was better to kill him.
gonna stop him from breathing
10 21 (02:24)
She came to see me and I let her in
She's in the bathroom she was drinking gin
I let her out and I locked the door
And took her up to the sixteenth floor
She came around to go back home
She's telling me that I am too slow
It ain't me, it must be a friend
She's telling me that this is the end
She fell in love with me and took it so easy
She's only 21 and trying to please me
I took it in, all in my stride
There's only one thing that he's trying to hide
She came to see me and I let her in
Again, she's in the bathroom, drinking gin
I let her out and I locked the door
And told my friends she ain't worth it anymore
She came around to go back home
She's telling me that I am too slow
It ain't me, it must be my friend
She's telling me that this is the end
She fell in love with me and took it so easy
She's only 21 and trying to please me
I took it in, all in my stride
There's only one thing that he's trying to hide
11 Sorry (04:55)
Sorry, hope you're feeling happy now
Hope you're feeling happy now
I am gone
I said I'm sorry
I hope you're feeling happy now
I hope you're feeling happy now
I am gone
Oh is it over, is it over I can not tell
You and him and all the things that you do so well
Is it over, is it over I can not tell
You and him and all the things that you do so well
Told you some things
I can not let him go
I know I told you so
No I won't let this go
I told you I'm...
Sorry, I hope you're feeling happy now
I hope you're feeling happy now
I am gone
Oh is it over, is it over I can not tell
You and him and all the things that you do so well
Is it over, is it over I can not tell
You and him and all the things that you do so well
