I polacchi Decapitated sono un ensemble abbastanza giovane ma bazzicano la scena estrema europea già da un bel pò. Esattamente dal 2000 anno del debutto "Winds of Creation" a cui sono seguiti altri due buoni dischi come "Nihility" (2002) e "The Negation" (2004) che ce li hanno fatto conoscere come un'onesta death metal band comunque devota ai maestri Morbid Angel.
Però è nel 2006 che i nostri con questo platter che risponde al nome di "Horganic Hallucinosis" fanno il cosiddetto salto di qualità. Partendo da una base comunque ancorata agli stilemi del metallo della morte questi polacchi innestano nel loro sound "pericolose inflessioni meshugghiane" sia a livello di ritmiche e sopratutto a livello di riffing che rimane sempre molto articolato e "groovoso" a mio avviso. Ascoltare in proposito tracce come "A poem about an old prison man" con un riff iniziale che vi farà letteralmente sobbalzare o "Post(?)Organic" (la migliore del disco) che sembra uscita da album come "Chosphere" o "Nothing" e che presenta sia nei riff portanti che nella parte solista chiari riferimenti allo stile di un certo Fredrik Thordendal.
Una song come "Revelation of existence (The trip)" inoltre ha un non so cosa di "voivodiano" nel suo incedere maledettamente groovy e non passano affatto inosservate "Day69" o "Invisible control" che uniscono la ferocia del brutal con degli stacchi sincopati e mozzafiato ad opera del drummer Vitek, che prende sicuramente spunto da gentaglia come Tomas Haake o Raymond Herrera. Ha sicuramente influito su su questo mutamento del sound il cambio alla voce avvenuto con questo disco: lo screaming assassino (in questo caso Jens Kidman o Mike Di Salvo possono essere presi a paragone) del nuovo singer Covan (presente tra l'altro nei death metallers Atrophia Red Sun) meglio si adatta a questa musica rispetto al growl monocorde del precedente cantante Sauron. Particolare menzione merita la produzione, sicuramente la migliore goduta dal combo fino ad adesso, potente e affilata, che mette in risalto tutti gli strumenti. A mio avviso non influisce sulla qualità la brevità di quest'album che presenta 7 brani per poco più di mezz'ora di musica.
Questo cd afferma i quattro polacchi come una delle realtà più interessanti del panorama estremo europeo e come una di quelle band da tenere d'occhio per il futuro…
