Primo e unico album della band nu-metal col singer Dave Williams, deceduto nel 2002 per un attacco cardiaco. Dopo aver ascoltato questo Sinner ("Peccatore") sono rimasto un pò perplesso (un pò me lo aspettavo), il disco infatti è scontato, prevedibile e per niente originale.
(Forse mi sbaglio ma) secondo me questo gruppo sembra la brutta copia dei peggiori Mudvayne (non "peggiori", meglio dire "meno ispirati"), infatti alcuni cambi heavy-melodici e alcuni urlati ricordano i quattro dell'Illinois, ma mi sembra ingiusto fare confronti visto che ora come ora i nostri Pool sfigurerebbero molto. Le canzoni comunque sono piacevoli, piuttosto orecchiabili e di facile assimilaggio, molto heavy anche se, come già detto, sono prevedibili (a tratti noiose e ripetitive) e rispettono degli schemi ormai collaudati senza un tocco di originalità. Le migliori secondo me sono la title-track "Sinner", "Bodies", "Tear Away" (l'unica melodica in tutto il disco), "Told You So" e l'assolo finale di "Follow" (solo quello però) che vagamente odora di Pantera. Devo ammettere che le canzoni sopracitate mi piacciono molto e alzano un pò la media dell'album, ma comunque questo non giustifica la mediocrità che ha questo disco. La voce di Dave è molto buona e abbastanza efficace sia nelle parti melodiche sia in quelle semi urlate e urlate (presenti qualche volta, solo nei finali).
Sicuramente un album di forte impatto sonoro e abbastanza piacevole ma comunque resta un mediocre disco nu-metal. Se vi piace il genere (come me) e se vi piace scatenarvi un pò senza impegni alcuni dategli un ascolto, ma non aspettatevi niente di speciale, anzi non aspettavi proprio niente.
