"The Forgotten Goddess", debutto degli Echoes Of Eternity, mi ha sorpreso. Il quartetto, terzetto strumentale maschile e voce femminile, va ben oltre quello che, con superficialità, qualcuno indicherà come un pasto caldo per amanti di Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Theatre Of Tragedy, Nightwish o Therion, in virtù di un sound capace di fuorviare le vostre attese. Il loro progressive metal ha legami con le forme metalliche attualizzate e ascendenze thrash; inoltre le mutazioni strutturali portano la band a trattare con sensibilità tanto la materia atmospheric metal quanto i passaggi più potenti.
Il suono è dinamico, gotico, ricco di armonia e di una malinconia aggressiva e gli arrangiamenti (al pari delle parti tecniche) complessi e ricercati, sebbene il tutto risulti sempre affabile. Un po' come se i Dream Theater venissero amalgamati a gruppi come Mayfair, Depressive Age o Lost Century (li ricordate?) e poi passati al setaccio da Eyes Of Fire e The Gathering.
