Quella vena compositiva che a detta di molti Sir Elton John aveva perso nel corso degli anni, sembra invece tornata alla grande in questo singolo, "Electricity", una canzone composta per il musical "Billy Elliot".
Il pezzo colpisce immediatamente per la sua enorme completezza melodico compositiva e, più semplicemente, è bello. Bello da sentire, da assimilare. Armonicamente perfetto si direbbe prevalso da una cruda, ma calda, ruvidità che lascia il posto nel ritornello a quella che normalmente chiamiamo Musica. Il tutto enfatizzato da un semplice e profondo arrangiamento senza fronzoli ed un buon testo. Non è difficile pensare, dopo l'ascolto, che si tratti del miglior brano pop degli ultimi quindici anni. Nell'ultimo lavoro, "The Capitain And The Kid", anche se molto valido, manca una canzore di questa bellezza.
