Gli Enon nascono nel 1997 da John Schmersal dei Brainiac e da Rick Lee e Steve Calhoon degli Skeleton Key.
Dopo il primo album, davvero interessante, registrato per la SeeThru Broadcasting, si aggiunge alla band Toko Yasuda di Blonde Redhead e Matt Schulz. Il sound è un mix di punk-rock, psichedelia, electro freak-outs mooooolto fresco a volte squisitamente pop a volte violento.
Nel secondo album i due degli Skeleton Key non ci sono più e l'etichetta è la Touch and Go! si ascolta la splendida "Natural Disasters" e tutti ci innamoriamo di loro.
Innumerevoli i 7” usciti in questi anni (anche per Sub Pop). Il finire del 2003 e' stato testimone di "Hocus Pocus", freschissimo album che continua la tradizione con in più qualche base elettronica minimale e molto più sincopato dei precedenti. Da segnalare la bellissima ballata "Candy" e la splendida "Starcastic".
