Credo di non aver trovato traccia di una recensione su questo album ("Just One Night") e così visto che è uno degli album più belli di mr "Slowhand" mi accingo a crearne una! (ho omesso di proposito di scrivere che SECONDO ME è uno degli album più belli di "slowhand" perchè lo è a prescindere.)
Non voglio fare introduzioni sull' artista o sulla sua vita, non è questo il mio compito, per quello credo basti wikipedia. Il mio intento è solo quello di commentare questo album.
Il live, è suddiviso in due cd. Il primo cd parte alla grande con "Tulsa Time", canzone dal ritmo incalzante, da ballare come se si fosse in una festa di paese con in mano bicchieri di birra semivuoti. Subito dopo si inizia a fare sul serio con "Early in the Morning", dico si inizia a fare sul serio perchè è da questo pezzo che la chitarra e la voce di Eric iniziano a graffiare come solo lui riesce a fare. Un'altra esibizione magistrale del primo disco per me è in "Wonderful Tonight" in cui Clapton riesce a trasmettere smodate emozioni nonostanze l'assenza di virtuosismi chitarristici! Infatti in questa canzone si può apprezzare al meglio il tocco magico di Eric. Il resto delle canzoni del primo cd sono comunque ritmate, sono canzoni che ti fanno sognare per un attimo di essere su una cabrio sulla magnifica Route 66, con il sole che si infrange sulle lenti degli occhiali da sole e il vento che ti scompiglia i capelli!
Il secondo cd inizia nel migliore dei modi, con "Double Trouble" (che insieme a "Cocaine" e "Blues Power" rendono questo secondo cd una "droga"). "Double Trouble" ci fa captare tutta la passione con cui l'artista cerca di trasmettere emozioni attraverso le sue dita, alternando virtuosismi sublimi a pezzi in cui la chitarra è quasi impercettibile ma comunque intensa! Come già detto un altro pezzo di spicco è la famosissima "Cocaine". Secondo me una delle migliori versioni in cui si può sentire un uso, forse eccessivo, del "wha-wha.
In conclusione se qualcuno mi dicesse che deve comprare a tutti i costi un album di Eric Clapton e vuole qualcosa di magistrale io consiglierei senza ombra di dubbio questo capolavoro! Ovviamente dalla mia recensione si evince che sono un suo fan e non ho problemi a criticare i suoi "flop" ma quando ci si trova davanti a queste pietre miliari della musica è inevitabile farsi trasportare dall'entusiasmo nel recensire!
