OK, ora vi chiederete: e chi sono 'sti Fozzy? Ve lo dico subito.
I Fozzy sono la band del wrestler Chris Irvine, meglio conosciuto come Chris “Y2J” Jericho.
Questo All That Remains, uscito quest’anno, è il primo vero album del gruppo: in passato i Fozzy avevano pubblicato altri cd, ma tutti con cover di Iron Maiden, Judas Priest e così via. Qui, invece, abbiamo finalmente un solido heavy metal che mi permette di giudicare meglio la bravura della band.
Il disco può anche essere considerato rock moderno (a mio avviso ricordano i 3 Doors Down e gli Alter Bridge), anche vi sono alcuni riff "old school metal" ed altri più nu-metal.
Andiamo con le canzoni: le mie preferite sono NAMELESS FACELESS, ENEMY (il singolo), la title-track ALL THAT REMAINS e IT’S A LIE. Ed è in queste tracce che i Fozzy danno il meglio. Le altre sono dignitose e poco più. Da notare, inoltre, la presenza di numerosi ospiti; da Zack Wilde (Black Label Society) a Marty Friedman (Megadeth), gente seria insomma...
Cosa manca a quest'album? Sicuramente un po' di grinta in più non guasterebbe e e poi mi sembra un cd troppo semplice e poco creativo, nonostante il prodotto offerto da Jericho e compagnia sia molto valido. Perlomeno è da apprezzare il fatto che, dopo aver suonato solo cover, i Fozzy hanno suonato qualcosa di loro.
Per concludere, "All That Remains" è un album molto interessante, ma non così tanto da strapparsi i capelli.
