I Katatonia sono una band svedese formatasi nei primi anni '90 e noti per la loro evoluzione dalla scena doom/death metal a sonorità dark, gothic e progressive. Capitanati da Jonas Renkse e Anders Nyström, hanno influenzato pesantemente il metal atmosferico europeo con una discografia che alterna capolavori malinconici e svolte coraggiose.
