Cari lettori di DeBaser oggi, per chi legge le mie recensioni, vado a recensire un altro disco dei mitici ed insuperabili Kiss!
E ora parto con la mia consueta introduzione. Questo disco è stato pubblicato nel 1984, i tempi stavano cambiando, non era più tempo per il glam rock dei kiss, l'heavy metal era alle porte. I Kiss allora decidono di provare a pubblicare un disco metal anche loro: "Animalize". Ed ora " via alla recensione"
Il cd parte benissimo con "I've had enough into the fire" bellissima song dove si fa spazio la chitarra del mitico Mark st. John, chitarrista solista bravissimo. La canzone è bella e anche ben fatta, i "bacio" sono tornati, dopo "Lick it up" sembra proprio che siano risorti. Ed infatti proseguendo con la seconda traccia, "Heaven's on fire", si capisce proprio che i Kiss non sono morti. "LE ULTIME PAROLE FAMOSE", ecco l'espressione giusta; basta una canzone per rovinare tutto e per deludere i fans "Burn bitch burn", traccia veramente inutile dovei riff sono buttati a casaccio e le uniche cose che si riescono a capire in questasong sono: la chitarra di John, che da il meglio di se, e la voce fuori forma di Gene simmons. "Get all you can take" è un'altra canzone tipo "Burn bitch burn", inutile e scontata. Forse negli '80 Gene Simmons canta e produce canzoni non riuscite perchè era troppo impegnato a compiacersi delle sue imprese con i Kiss che furono. Un' altra traccia mediocre scorre nel lettore "Lonley is the hunter", questa canzone non è da Kiss e neanche per la voce del Demon che prova a non stonare e forse ci è riuscito, fattostà che i Kiss si dimostrano incapaci di sostenere il proprio successo ottenuto con "Creatures of the night" e "Lick it up". Ecco che ad un certo punto tra la nebbia si intravede un bagliore, una canzone finalmente ben fatta in questo cd: "Under the gun" finalmente degna del nome Kiss! Lo starchild da il meglio di sè in questa song e lo si capisce da come usa la sua voce: acuti ben piazzati e mai una sbavatura! La gloria continua perchè "Thrills in the night" é meravigliosa, le chitarre si fanno sentire la voce di Paul anche e tutto sembra essere calibrato alla perfezione. Dopo la gloria ovviamente i quattro americani cercano di rovinare tutto con un'altra canzone mediocre e indovinate un pò chi la canta??? Gene Simmons. in tutto"Animalize" canta stonato e male e oltretutto le canzoni che canta lui sono le più brutte tranne l'ultima di "Animalize" "Murder in High-Heels" che, pur essendo mediocre è carina come canzone.
Il disco non è ben riuscito, nonostante io sia un membro dell'armata Kiss devo essere imparziale e dire che questo disco non è stato un buon prodotto. In questo disco si hanno i preamboli della crisi ottantina dei Kiss.
