ATTENZIONE: Questa è la mia prima recensione, quindi già mi aspetto il Contatore di Casi Umani che mi viene a prendere con la rete da accalappiacani. Dopo questo, passo a presentarvi un disco dei mitici Kiss, il disco che apre per loro la decade ottantiana, "Unmasked". Sicuramente tutti quanti qui conoscerete il gruppo e i loro spettacoli pirotecnici! Quindi passiamo direttamente alla recensione.
Questo rispetto allo standard Kiss è un disco un po' meno hard rock, un po' più commerciale e danzereccio, come gli eighties impongono, ma questo cambiamento di rotta non toglie il mordente a un disco che rimane un piacere da ascoltare! Tutte le canzoni, a partire dall'opener "Is That You?" fino ad arrivare alla conclusiva "You're All That I Want" hanno una carica veramente impressionante, come fino ad ora i Kiss ci avevano sempre abituato, senza togliere l'aspetto romantico al tutto, come per esempio ci dimostra la seconda traccia "Shandi", a mio parere uno dei picchi del disco, che nei concerti viene rappresentata come suonata-intorno-al-fuoco-tra-amici, mentre l'aspetto più aggressivo è rappresentato ad esempio da "Naked City", o dall'opener "Is That You?". I testi sono i soliti testi à la Kiss, parlano TUTTI esclusivamente di amore, quale in maniera più romantica, quale più perversa, e agli strumenti come al solito sono tutti molto bravi! I Kiss sono in assoluto uno dei gruppi che mette più passione in quello che fa quando suona, e si sente, si sente alla grande.. se vi piacciono i Kiss, questo disco è da ascoltare assolutamente, certo ne hanno fatti di migliori, ma anche questo è un gran bel disco!
