Non chiamatela compilation! "Hits +" di Kylie Minogue è un disco capolavoro perchèà contiene passato , presente ( parlo del periodo in cui è uscita ) e inedito della principessa del pop.
"Hits + " sarebbe come una sorta di Greatest hits con cui la deconstruction records saluta per sempre Kylie con cui ha lavorato per due dischi di studio dal 1994 al 1998; il disco esce però con un po di ritardo , nel 2000 , ovvero l anno della rinascita artistica di Kylie.
Molte sono le hits ma anche inediti, canzoni rare e introvabili.
"Confide in me " è la prima che assieme a "put yourself in my place " e " where is the feeling " rendono l idea del disco del 1994, tra l indie e il pop , con canzoni melodiche e sensuali e stupende ballate; "some kind of bliss", " did it again " e " breath " invece ci descrivono al meglio il sound , l atmosfera e il mood del disco "impossible princess" targato 1997. "Where the wild roses grow" è l apoteosi del periodo in cui Kylie incontra Nick Cave ed entrambi si godono il successo di critica e di pubblico con questa canzone evergreen.
Gli inediti fanno parte delle varie recordings session che vanno dal 1994 al 1999, troviamo infatti " in you don t love me " , struggente ballata , " tears " la canzone più introvabile e rara di Kylie Minogue, ma anche " gotta move on " , " Stay this way " , "automatic love " ed altre sempre tra il pop e ballad.
Gran finale con " take me with you " , che si avvicina al blues.
Questo disco possiamo senza problemi accostarlo a "Something to remember" di Madonna del 1995. Nei due casi abbiamo due artiste che vogliono fermarsi ad analizzare la propria carriera con un disco profondo con ballate che toccano al cuore e canzoni melodiche ma non ballabili.
