Autopsy è una band death metal californiana fondata nel 1987 da Chris Reifert (già batterista nei Death su Scream Bloody Gore). Con album come Severed Survival e Mental Funeral ha definito un sound ruvido che fonde death e rallentamenti doom, spesso pubblicato su Peaceville Records.
