Dopo averci sussurrato le sue "Infinite Love Songs" Maximilian Hecker rispolvera il pianoforte, lascia libera la sua vena creativa e ci regala una "Rosa": rossa, piena di passione e di vitalità, ma anche grigia, avvilita, decadente...
Questo disco rispetto all'esordio è meno acustico e presenta qualche brano macchiato da un po' di elettronica, ma le sue sono canzoni d'amore delicate, accompagnate da stupende melodie di sapor agrodolce.
Il suo inconfondibile lirismo è una ninnananna che prima ti coccola, poi ti seduce e infine ti accoglie nel suo caldo grembo.
Bellissime le citazioni (e le songs): "The days are endless without your eyes touching my heart, healing my wounds." (Fool) e "Just to let you know that you're the only one" (My Love For You Is Insane).
Note di piano fatate, testi tenui e favolosi che strizzano l'occhio al romanticismo, falsetti alla Jeff Buckley e arrangiamenti musicali riusciti e misurati, può bastare? My Friends ha un ritmo martellante "Forget how to breathe, forget how to speak", e Daylight sembra quasi una canzone degli Archive.
Kate Moss è da brividi. Ma chissà se domani questa Rosa sarà ancora dritta nel suo splendore...
