LA RECENSIONE
I McLusky sono uno stile di vita, le loro canzoni ti si stampano sulla maglietta e non è facile trovare il coraggio di metterla a lavare, neppure dopo essersi eccitati per ore sotto l'effetto spasmodico prodotto dal sound del trio gallese; il loro è un post punk con una melodia di base non indifferente, che crea ritmi adolescienziali ma in un contesto colto.
Le atmosfere sono quelle che hanno sempre proposto i Fugazi; ci troviamo di fronte a 3 canzoni dove la voce stralunata ma controllata di Falkous concede spesso e volentieri urletti e veemenze, un basso arrugginito detta ritmi incalzanti, la chitarra armonizza impudicamente il tutto e la batteria ti spinge in pista, fino all'immancabile climax dell'inno generazionale finale in "The Salt Water Solution":
"What's wrong with getting what you want?"

mclusky è un trio noise rock/post-hardcore di Cardiff formato nel 1996, autore di tre album su Too Pure. Due dischi chiave (Mclusky Do Dallas e The Difference Between Me and You Is That I'm Not on Fire) sono stati registrati con Steve Albini.
