Premesso che questa è la mia prima recensione spero di fare un buon lavoro per un buon lavoro parlando musicalmente. Infatti è ormai chiaro che i finlandesi Sonata Arctica travolgono con il loro stile. "Reckoning Night" non fà eccezione doti tecniche affinate suoni puliti e distorti con maestria bellissima la voce di Tony Kakko. Scusate se attuo un quasi Track by Track ma è necessario.
L'album si apre con l'ottima Misplaced che si puo definire dirompente e usata nel live "For The Sake Of Revange" come pezzo d'apertura.. davvero ad effetto, si prosegue con "Blinded No More" che fà la sua ottima figura infatti si presta molto all'ascolto da parte di tutti sono riuscito a farla aprezzare perfino alla mia ragazza convinta Anti-Metallara dolcissima a tratti la voce e ottime basi di batteria e chitarra con un assolo struggente anche se tecnicamente facile, "Ain't Your Fairytale" e "Reckoning Day, Reckoning Night" passano veloci ma comunque molto belle da ascoltare. Si arriva ad una grandissima canzone che è "Don't Say A Word" forse una delle migliori dell'album infatti piena di ritmo e con una voce seguita da un coro in molte parti coinvolge e stimola il nostro amatissimo handbang.
Altri pezzi di cui vorrei parlare sono "Wildfire" stupenda e per certi versi con sonorità strane si apre musicalmente dopo 40 secondi in cui parla una voce che alla fina dice "burning, burning all" proprio ad aspettarsi un pezzo di fuoco che non delude le aspettative davvero buono. Poi arriva il capolavoro del cd cioè "White Pearl, Black Ocean" che io definrei poetico e emozionante quasi 9 minuti di pura estasi tecnicamente e vocalmente stupenda prende al cuore poi rapide accelerazioni da handbang per poi tornare alla calma di quell'oceano di cui si parla. Infine altro capolavoro "Shamandalie" con una partecipazione della tastiera comunque molto presente nell'intero cd con ottime prestazioni devo dire ma particolarmente toccante da ascoltare ad occhi chiusi al buio.
In sostanza non un album perfetto ma molto gradevole e ben fatto che non è riuscito a bissare i precedenti "Ecliptica" e "Silence" ma che comunque è da avere nella propria audioteca per momenti di spensieratezza all'insegna di un ottimo gruppo come i Sonata Arctica.

Reckoning Night è un vero e proprio treno sonoro che non lascia un attimo di respiro dall'inizio alla fine.
Le linee vocali hanno un ché di geniale, come da sempre ci ha abituato il nostro cantante/songwriter/mastermind Tony Kakko.

L'album mi è piaciuto molto ed è stato uno di quelli che mi hanno fatto appassionare al metal.
Finalmente il gruppo comincia a sperimentare, spostarsi dal proprio genere, per avvicinarsi al progressive.
