La semplice via del rimanere in silenzio non sempre paga.
Timidezza, mancanza di tempo, carenza di idee e spunti. Ti volti un secondo e son passati tre anni.
Coraggio, sù... riprovarci è d'obbligo: è una sfida per un disco caduto presto nel dimenticatoio, è uno stimolante passatempo per quanto sia piacevole da riascoltarsi. E poi rimettersi in gioco non ha mai prezzo mentre per tutto il resto esistono i vizi ed i capricci.
L'entità del pensiero tanto per sintonizzarsi sulla lunghezza d'onda del ritrovarsi a casa dopo tanto tempo ed ascoltare musica per tutto il santo giorno. Allora che fai?!?... fai ordine, scartabelli, scegli, provi, vomiti, godi, ritenti, rivivi la musica, la tua passione, qualsiasi nota come se fosse la prima volta, non importa dove e come, importa che il tutto si svisceri in sintonia con ciò che fai.
Oggi tocca a "Silence is Easy" il secondo lavoro di una band che, almeno per quanto riguarda l'heavy rotation continentale, si è eclissata ben presto dopo un esordio alquanto promettente. Un disco che pullula di brani interessanti, densi di melodia ed interpretati con "forza" dalla suadente vocalità di di James Walsh.
Poesia, cenni di un glorioso passato musicale, archi, chitarre acustiche e tanta, molta melodia.
Quaranta minuti densi di un'interpretazione sentita: "Fidelity", "Restless heart", "Born Again", "Four to the floor" te ne innamori e poi fai finta di nulla timidamente. Nasconditi pure, son solo tue, esclusivamente tue, almeno per oggi.
Ecco come va la vita dopo circa tre anni di silenzio: torni sempre a riascoltare quella bellissima "Telling them" mentre ti perdi in lunghi racconti dei tuoi ricordi. Traccia numero 5, repeat che mi son di nuovo perso qualcosa.

Il sound della band inglese risulta molto più aggressivo, le ballate lasciano il posto a canzoni strutturate in modo più complesso.
Gentle rock: non raffinato come quello dei Coldplay, non sussurrato come quello dei Travis, magari un po’ grezzo, ma di sicuro, in quest’episodio, vario e bello nella sua totalità.

Questo lavoro è un ottimo esempio di musica oggettivata.
Born Again è un pezzo veramente spettacolare che parla appunto di rinascita e di redenzione.
