Sunflower è dei due albums il più lodato dalla critica (This Whole World, ecc) ma e' in Surf's up che si annidano due dei massimi capolavori di Brian Wilson, ormai lì lì per iniziare il viaggio attraverso l'oceano della sua isolata follia: Til' I Die ed il pezzo che da il titolo all'album.
Ascoltate il primo brano ad un volume sostenuto possibilmente nel primo autunno e sentirete i brividi penetrarvi fin dentro l'anima mentre la voce di Brian canta "... I'm a cork on the ocean floating over a raging sea ...". Oppure la modulazione armonica dei cori di Surf's Up anticipata dalle liriche visionarie di Van Dyke Sparks.
