Come si fa a recensire un disco come questo, fatto di sano cantautorato, loop elettronici, deviazioni country(!), arpeggi classici, musiche ambient, rumorismo minimalista, ballate folk e chi più ne ha più ne metta? Come si fa a parlarne in modo razionale e oggettivo, quando tutti questi riferimenti vengono frullati assieme creando un'equilibrio e una leggerezza a dir poco incantevole?
Che cosa si può aggiungere a un disco di cui si sa poco o nulla, nemmeno i componenti della band (band?!)? Che dire poi delle canzoni intitolate: "The lemon of Pink", "Tokyo", "Bonanza", "S is for evrysing" (avete letto bene), "There is no there" etc?
Come essere obiettivi con un disco di appena 36 minuti talmente bello da sfuggire ad ogni classificazione?Già... direi che è quasi impossibile...
Consigliato a: chi ha menti aperte a 360° e orecchie... più che a sventola (diciamo che è un disco "per pochi").

The Books sono un duo di collage elettroacustico e folktronica formato da Nick Zammuto e Paul de Jong a New York. Debuttano nel 2002 con Thought for Food su Tomlab, proseguono con The Lemon of Pink (2003) e Lost and Safe (2005), quindi The Way Out (2010) su Temporary Residence.
