The Sisters of Mercy sono un gruppo britannico formatosi a Leeds nel 1980 attorno ad Andrew Eldritch e Gary Marx. Icone del gothic rock, hanno usato la drum machine ‘Doktor Avalanche’ come membro fisso e pubblicato tre album in studio: First and Last and Always, Floodland e Vision Thing. Il nome deriva da una canzone di Leonard Cohen.
