Specialmente alle consuete cover del gruppo, ovvero "Train Kept a Rollin", "Smockestack Lightning", "Big Ten Inch Record", "Love Me Two Times" e "Walkin' the Dog", avremo un ulteriore avvicinamento agli originali. Di sicuro curiose, ma senza infamia nè lode sono "Last Child" e "Hangman Juri". Rivisitate in versione blues troviamo "One Way Street" (eccezionale) e "Milk Cow Blues".

01   Hangman Jury (06:18)

Me and my old lady sittin' in the shade
Talkin' about the money that I ain't made
Singin' whoa boy, dontcha lie on the track-a-lack-a
Whoa boy, dontcha lie on the track
Whoa boy, dontcha lie on the track-a-lack-a
Whoa boy, dontcha lie on the track

And if I could, I surely would
Stand on the rock that Moses stood
Singin' whoa boy dontcha lie on the track-a-lack-a
Whoa boy, dontcha lie on the track
Whoa boy, dontcha lie on the track-a-lack-a
Whoa boy, dontcha lie on the track

Drank so much hooch it made my eyes be gettin' blurry
They say I nailed her to the wall
A stitch in time don't mean a thing
No hangman jury could make me crawl
'Cause I'm a poor boy, dontcha lie on the track-a-lack-a
Whoa boy, dontcha lie on the track-a-lack-a
Whoa boy, dontcha lie on the track

Whatcha do with a gun that's loaded
Shot her dead and her heart exploded
Tell me baby now d-dontcha worry
Like lying to the hangman jury

I swear I didn't know that .45 was loaded
In fact my memory ain't too clear
That's not to say she didn't get what she deserved
'Least that's the way it looked from here boy, when you lie on the track-a-lack-a
Here boy, when you lie on the track-a-lack-a
Here boy, when you lie on the track

Ohh, her love came tumblin' down, yeah
Ohh, when love come tumblin' down
Ohh, (Let's get outta here) When love come tumblin'

And every night she'd take her thing into the city
And in the mornin' make me beg
'Cause if I'd taken all her real nitty gritty
I'd smack her right upside the head boy, dontcha lie on the track-a-lack-a
Hey boy, dontcha lie on the track
Hey boy, dontcha lie on the track

Ohh, when love come tumblin' down
Ohh, when love come tumblin' down
Ohh, when love come tumblin'

Poor boy sweatin' in the hot summer night
Hangman waitin' for the early morning light
Singin' hey boy, dontcha lie on the track-a-lack-a
Hey boy, dontcha lie on the track
Hey boy, dontcha lie on the track-a-lack-a
Hey boy, dontcha lie on the track

And if I could, I surely would
Stand on the rock that Moses done stood
Singin' hey boy, dontcha lie on the track-a-lack-a
Hey boy, dontcha lie on the track
Hey boy, dontcha lie on the track-a-lack-a
Hey boy, dontcha lie on the track

02   Monkey on My Back (04:38)

03   Love Me Two Times (03:41)

04   Seasons of Wither (05:20)

Blues hearted lady sleepy was she
Love for the devil brought her to me
Seas of a thousand drawn to her sin
Seasons of Wither holdin me in

Ooh woe is me I feel so badly for you
Ooh woe is me I feel so sadly for you
In time bound to lose your mind
Live on borrowed time
Take the wind right out of your sail

Fireflies dance in the heat of
Hound dogs that bay at the moon
My ship leaves in the midnight
Can't say I'll be back too soon

They awaken far far away
Heat of my candle shows me the way
Seas of a thousand drawn to her sin
Seasons of Wither holdin me in

Ooh woe is me I feel so badly for you
Ooh woe is me I feel so sadly for you
In time bound to lose your mind
Live on borrowed time
Take the wind right out of your sail

05   Big Ten Inch Record (03:56)

Got me the strangest woman
Believe me this trick's no cinch
But I really get her going
When I whip out my big ten inch

Record of a band that plays the blues
Well a band that plays its blues
She just love my big ten inch
Record of her favorite blues

Last night I tried to tease her
I gave my love a little pinch
She said now stop that jivin'
Now whip out your big ten inch

Record of a band that plays the blues
Well a band that plays the blues
She just loves my big ten inch
Record of her favorite blues

I, I, I cover her with kisses
And when we're in a lover's clinch
She gets all excited
When she begs for my big ten inch

Record of a band that plays the blues
Well a band that plays the blues
She just love my big ten inch
Record of her favorite blues

My girl don't go for smokin'
And liquor just make her flinch
Seem she'll go for nothin'
'Cept for my big ten inch

Record of a band that plays the blues
Band that play the blues
She just love my big ten inch
Record of her favorite blues

06   One Way Street (05:32)

Yeah... (soft)
Hey look out yonder what's that I see
Well that old bogus honey coming after me
I thought you told her I was out of town
I wonder how she knowed I was hangin' around
Say listen baby don't go wastin' yo time
You keep a comin' round you'll hear the same old line
You got a thousand boys you say you need'em
You take what's good for you and i'll take my freedom

'Cause lately it's been so hard now to make ends meet
Ooooooh....yes it has
And honey your head's a one way street
And I gotta go the other way
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ...

I thought I knew her my cagey lady
How could my sunshine be so damn shady
She'll say she'll love to talk a conversation
But i'm the one that makes my situation
This one way city that I thought I knew
It's such a pity honey that's it for you

Because lately it's been so hard now to make ends meet
And honey your head's a one way street

You know your brother spike he's on the level
But you always lookin' like your mad at the devil
Don't say I cop a 'tude it's all forgotten
It's just you're much too rude your fruits are rotten
You know I work so hard to keep it alive
Now all I hear from you is nothin' but jive

Because lately it's been so hard now to make ends meet...hey
And honey your head's a one way street
And I gotta go the other way ay ay... yes I do... yeah

I said your head's like a one way street
Well you're foolin' everybody but me
I said your head's like a one way street
And you're foolin' everybody you meet
I said you're head's like a one way street
When you're foolin' everybody you meet
I said you're head's like a one way street
When you're foolin' everybody you meet
I said you're head's like a one way street
You got to get yourself back on your feet

07   Smokestack Lightning (03:12)

08   Dream On (05:03)

Every time that I look in the mirror
All these lines in my face gettin' clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got their dues in life to pay, yeah

I know nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know it's everybody's sin
You got to lose to know how to win

Half my life's in books' written pages
Live and learn from fools and from sages
You know it's true
All the things
Come back to you

Sing with me
Sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing it with me
If it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away

Sing with me
Sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing it with me
If it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away

Dream on, dream on, dream on
Dream yourself a dream come true
Dream on, dream on, dream on
Dream until your dreams come true
Dream on, dream on, dream on, dream on
Dream on, dream on, dream on, ahh

Sing with me
Sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing it with me
If it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord can take you away

Sing with me
Sing for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing it with me
If it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord can take you away

10   Toys in the Attic (03:54)

In the attic, lights
Voices scream, nothing seems
Real's a dream

Leaving the things that are real behind
Leaving the things that you love from mind
All of the things that you learned from fears
Nothing is left for the years, voices scream
Nothing seems real's a dream

Toys toys toys in the attic
Toys toys toys in the attic
Toys toys toys in the attic
Toys toys toys

In the attic, lights
Voices scream, nothing seems
Real's a dream

11   Walkin' the Dog (04:09)

Mary Mack dressed in black
Silver buttons up and down her back
I know mistletoe
She broke her needle now she can't sew

Walkin' the dog
I'm just a walkin' your dog
Well if you don't know how to do it
I'll show you how to walk the dog

Ask your mama for fifteen cents
To see the elephant jump the fence
It jumped so high it touched the sky
Didn't come back 'til fourth July

I'm walkin' the dog
I'm just a walkin' your dog
Well if you don't know how to do it
I'll show you how to walk the dog

Mary Mary quite contrary
How does your garden grow
Well well silver bells and little bitty bitty white shells
Pretty maids all in a row

Walkin' your dog
I'm just a walkin' your dog
Well if you don't know how to do it
I'll show you how to walk the dog... yeah
Well if you don't know how to do it
I'll show you how to walk the dog
Well if you don't know how to do it
I'll show you how to walk the dog

13   Last Child (05:03)

I'm dreaming tonight, I'm living back home.

Right!

Take me back to a south Tallahassee.
Down cross the bridge to my sweet sassafras-y.
Can't stand up on my feet in the city.
Gotta get back to the real nitty gritty.

Yes, sir. No, sir.
Don't come close to my
home, sweet home.
Can't catch no dose
of my hot tail poontang sweetheart.
Sweathog ready to make a silk purse
from a J. Paul Getty and his ear
with her face in her beer.

Home, sweet home.

Get out in the field;
put the mule in the stable.
Ma', she's a cookin',
put the eats on the table.
Hate's in the city
and my love's in the meadow.
Hands on the plow
and my feet in the ghetto.

Stand up, sit down.
Don't do nothing,
It ain't no good when the boss-man
stuffin' down their throats
for paper notes
and their babies cry
while cities lie at their feet
when you're rockin' the street.

Home, sweet home.

Mama, take me home, sweet home.
I was the last child.
I'm just a punk in the street.
