Mi ricordo ancora il video di "Green".
L'azione si svolgeva all'interno di una classe (un liceo australiano?). C'erano tutti: la belloccia della scuola, lo sfigato dalle orecchie a sventola, la frigida sensibile. Un tizio che assomiglia a Ron Jeremy (un ripetente? il bidello?) e il professore che con quella faccia da caratterista avrà sicuramente interpretato la parte del capo burbero ma generoso in qualche film americano. Non si sa se piangere o ridere.
Ma poi LLoyd, chitarra a tracolla, comincia a suonare, al centro della stanza.
Perchè non voglio assolutamente parlare di questo album (il solito dozzinale folk pop cantautorale da Major, con tre canzoni carine, le altre non pervenute, potete immaginarlo tranquillamente da soli). E in definitiva, neanche di questa canzone, "Green".
Perchè qui si parla di religione: di una religione laica che ubbidisce solo alle regole della spontaneità. Della capacità di emozionarsi, anche quando gli intenti non sono i migliori. Del fato che, cazzo, ancora una volta ci hanno fregato.
Potremmo parlare per ore se Dio esiste o no: quello che so è che la domanda è stupida, perchè io credo nell'uomo. Nelle sue debolezze, nelle sue contraddizioni, nella sua capacità di creare mondi, religioni, superstizioni.
Perchè se un mediocre artista come LLoyd può concepire un miracolo come "Green", allora c'è ancora speranza.
Chissà se il vecchio Alex si è mai accorto, di essere arrivato così vicino al cielo.
