Controllando nel database delle recensioni, ho notato l'assenza di questo disco, il quale pur non essendo un full lenght, contiene cd audio e dvd per un total playing esauriente e di sicuro interesse, in quanto contiene brani e cover interamente registrati dal vivo durante i vari tour di Avril, inoltre c'è l'intero concerto di Buffalo datato 2003 per finire con video, backstage e foto. Per cui direi che ci troviamo di fronte a tutt'altro che un'operazione puramente commerciale.
Partiamo dal cd audio che inizia con ‘Fuel', cover dei Metallica, dall'ottima resa sonora, un po' alleggerita rispetto all'originale, e da una Avril Lavigne in forma sgargiante; segue ‘Basketcase' cover dei Greenday, più vicina alle note della cantante; seguita da ‘Unwanted' e ‘Sk8er boy' tratte dall'esordio di Avril, fino alla gettonatissima ‘Knocking on heaven's door' (qui registrata a fini umanitari) terminando con ‘Why', traccia inedita se non in edizioni particolari.
Passiamo al ‘main plate', ovvero il dvd, tutt'altro che marginale a livello artistico: infatti abbiamo una buona regia, buona qualità video; mentre la qualità audio, come ho già detto riguardo al cd, è davvero eccezionale: certo, il mixaggio non dovrà essere stato molto impegnativo in quanto le partiture pop sono di per sé ordinate, ma ugualmente l'audio sfida quello di studio (anche per questo Avril o i produttori, hanno ben ritenuto nelle varie rimasterizzazioni, di aggiungere vari pezzi live).
Nel live Avril ci delizia con la sua ottima estensione, la sua dolcezza, le ottime note basse e quelle alte dal timbro argentino (non la nazione), suonando anche la chitarra e incitando la folla, con la quale in più occasioni interagisce direttamente (purtroppo non c'ero e ho perso la possibilità di un bel duetto!!.) Le canzoni non sto dirle perché sono i vari successi di Avril e le stesse cover del cd audio, ad eccezione di ‘I don't give' che non conosco. Anche gli ‘outtakes' sono interessanti, pur non avendo alcuna connessione con la musica: più degli sketch divertenti di Avril con la band.
Riprendendo l'introduzione col consigliare questo cd +dvd a chi ama questa cantante, in quanto Avril dal vivo rende quanto e più che in studio.
