Qualcuno ricorda l'Elephant Six?

Hello resolven
Hello to you all
Wake up the king
Wake up the queen
Everybody laugh

It's over...

Hello resolven
Hello to you all
Wake up the king
Wake up the queen
Everybody laugh
Everybody sing
It's over...

Hello resolven
Hello to you all
Kill off the king
Kill off the queen
Everybody laugh

02   A Good Man Is Easy to Kill (04:20)

03   What Will You Do When Your Suntan Fades? (04:05)

This is gonna hurt, kid
You better hold on tight, you know
All those drugs you take
Cannot help to save your soul

Smile someday, smile, kid
You're fragile as a scene, ya know
All those things you have
Will not make you come undone

Tell me tell me you'll be alright
When you're in the shade
Tell me tell me you'll be alright
When you start to fade

Who's your only friend, kid?
There's noone else, you know
All those girls you love,
Doesn't mean you feel a thing

Tell me tell me you'll be alright
When you're in the shade
Tell me tell me you'll be alright
When you start to fade

Softly sway, or have you lost your way?
Well I could give you a map
But you know you'd have to stay
You could quit the fight or you can say goodnight
Well if you think it's a joke
Then why do you always cry?

Tell me tell me you'll be alright
When you're in the shade
Tell me tell me you'll be alright
When you start to fade

Have you heard?

The days are getting shorter
And what will you do when your suntan is fading and the summer's gone?
Do you feel afraid
(x3)

The days are getting shorter
And what will you do when your suntan is fading and the summer's gone?

Will you fade away? (x4)

04   Gene Autry (03:35)

Me and Mean Gene's got a beautiful voice
he carries me home on his beautiful horse.
Where she waits, I will ride ride ride
C'mon stranger just sing me a song
And if it's sad, I'll sing along long long
I told you I knew every word

When I get to California,
Gonna write my name in the sand
I'm gonna lay this body down
and watch the waves roll in

and when the city spreads out
just like a cut vein
Everybody drowns, sad and lonely
well everybody drowns, sad and lonely
well everybody drowns, sad and lonely, alright

Sweet dreams and color and sound
Highways in the fog waiting to be found
I'll start gold mines in the sky sky sky
They were clouds just waiting to cry

And with the wind
I'm dancing drift drift drift
in the shapes of the place that I miss

When I get to California,
Gonna write my name in the sand
I'm gonna lay this body down
and watch the waves roll in

I'm gonna rest this weary head
on someone who I think will care
When the stars and the sky start falling
I think you'll understand

That the city spreads out
just like a cut vein
Everybody drowns, sad and lonely
well everybody drowns, sad and lonely
well everybody drowns, sad and lonely, alright

Yeah I'm waiting for something to give
Well I'm waiting, I hope it's not me
Yeah I'm waiting...

05   Silver Lining (02:35)

Punk rock was my first girl
she left me a scar, so I have her still
She's not young, but she's not old yet
We share the same sun, but hers never sets

You want it
Silver linging shining for you
You got it
The dark cloud always waiting for you

Weightless, and tumbling through space
I remember her voice, but not her face
Floating, but she's always near
She wants to stay, but she can't stay here

You want it
Silver linging shining for you
You got it
The dark cloud always waiting for you

Frozen in window displays
Where did you hide all those days we'd waste?
Fading, but I see her still
She'll always be my punk rock girl

06   Popular Mechanics for Lovers (03:04)

I know he knocks you off your feet
You're so bitter; you think he's sweet
Well he's wrong for you, I swear

Did you forget to read the script?
There was never a role for him
It was always you and me, just me

Popular mechanics for broken hearts could help me now

I know you never felt romance
And we always lack suspense
I can edit those parts out

I never made you feel complete
I would fall beneath your feet
I would never bring you down, so down

Popular mechanics for broken hearts could help me now

Just because he loves you too
He would never take a bullet for you
Don't believe a word he says
He would never cut his heart out for you

I heard he wrote you a song
But so what
Some guy wrote 69
And one just ain't enough

And there's so sense in trying
I know 'cause I've been
Trying all the time to find something that would make you mine
But all I ever find my love
Are cliches that don't rhyme

Popular mechanics for broken hearts could help me now

Just because he loves you too
He would never take a bullet for you
Don't believe a word he says
He would never cut his heart out for you

07   Gravity's Bringing Us Down (04:39)

I never saw you up there
'Cause you never made a sound
If I knew what you were up to
I would've shot you down

Hey, wouldcha say
I'm on the rebound
Watch me fall
at the speed of sound
Your trigger finger's cocked, and I'm feeling weak
Open wide, I'm paralyzed

You were working on the inside
Disconnecting the alarm
I was messing up your signals
trying to turn me off

Hey, wouldcha say
I'm on the rebound
Watch me fall
at the speed of sound
Your trigger finger's cocked, and I'm feeling weak
Open wide, I'm paralyzed

Over the hills the frequency's breaking down
Don't wanna guess, but I think it's time we turned around

I'm soft, but I'll be alright
Soft, yeah, I'll be alright
Soft, yeah, I'll be alright
Soft...

Hey, wouldcha say
I'm on the rebound
Watch me fall
at the speed of sound
Your trigger finger's cocked, and I'm feeling weak
Open wide, I'm paralyzed

We're getting high, but we're still feeling down
Gravity has a way of pinning us to the ground

I'm soft, but I'll be alright
Soft, yeah, I'll be alright
Soft, yeah, I'll be alright
Soft, yeah, I'll be alright

Lonely
I'm just lonely
I'm just lonely
I'm just lonely

08   Hey Brother (03:28)

Hey brother
get yourself together
Don't you wait

Can't you see
I'm waiting in the shadows
to take your place?

There is a chance
that I'll keep tryin'
to tell you the truth
but end up lyin' to you

You said you were late
and I planned my escape
Such a happy thing
Just another one of my mistakes

So you held your breath
and you cursed the West
said you had no choice
you're moving back east where men are men

Your mother never had a reason to hesitate
Now you're waiting for a warmer welcome in colder states

You said you were late
and I planned my escape
Such a happy thing
Just another one of my mistakes

So you held your breath
and you cursed the West
said you had no choice
you're moving back east where men are men

Love's got no border
Why don't you feel free
to cross my state line
and bring yourself to me?

It's a hell of a struggle
been grounded for years
the words that I use up to, oh
for your ears

09   I'll Be Your Lampshade (04:12)

Though I didn't mention
I prayed for you that day
You left Glasco and your shell
and sailed back to the bay

And though it was predicted
old times always sound so bad
the calendar was the saddest thing
that I ever read

I hope you know you'll always be the life the party
I hope you know you'll always be the life the party

Though I wouldn't mention
I still say hi to you
know you wonder if the timing's off
how I want you too

though we lost direction
bad times always seem so sweet
you push the rhythm but kept uphill
the heart was made of steel

I hope you know you'll always be the life the party
I hope you know you'll always be the life the party

Who knows? I know its our last show
and I hope you know you'll always be
Always be...

One heart it stays racing on
Come on friend
there's poison in your veins
Come on friend
you know I feel the same

I hope you know you'll always be the life the party
I hope you know you'll always be the life the party

Who knows? I know its our last show
I hope you know there never was a party at all

10   Cruel Minor Change (02:26)

My cheeks are red and now they're swollen from the kisses
the strangers dance next to me
They're waiting on the sunrise or the armageddon
doesn't matter which ever comes first

Did you see those fireworks
explode and fall and fade like tears
It's where I waited
it's where I waited

please don't say that something is wrong
I was at the party, you never came
please don't say that something is wrong
I was at the party, you never came
when you are

Our ticket's folded and I hold it like a timebomb
it keeps on ticking, I'm counting down
The last stop on this line was cooler guy station
It's as far as I'll get tonight

Did you see those fireworks
explode and fall and fade like the tears
It's where I waited
it's where I waited

please don't say that something is wrong
I was at the party, you never came
please don't say that something is wrong
I was at the party, you never came
when you are

Cruel minor change
when nothings happen, it's still the same
We're not space age, we won't be saved
We're just holding on again, waiting for the end
Always hoping and

please don't say that something is wrong
I was at the party, you never came
please don't say that something is wrong
I was at the party, you never came
when you are

11   Burned by the Sun (02:47)

High above the border town
I can see the golden ground
If I wasn't looking down,
I might have lost you in the miles

Ocean blue and foaming white
Surround the body of my flight
'Cause I flew out of sight
You were turning in the stars

And I know what it means to you,
And I know what it means to me,
And I know how it feel to be burned by the sun
The sun, I love the sun

Now I'm sleeping on the sand
Of an unfamiliar land
And I'm dreaming up a plan
To get you on a breeze

And I'm staring at the speck
Of the map laid on the deck
It's time to make a trek
On forgiving seas

And I know what it means to you,
And I know what it means to me,
And I know how it feel to be burned by the sun
The sun, I love the sun

And I know what it means to you,
And I know what it means to me,
And I know we all wanna be
Burned by the sun

Basta una parola per descrivere questo disco: delizioso.

Immaginate Bacharach che suoni il tex-mex, solo che dopo un po' prende in mano la chitarra elettrica ed arruffa il tutto.
