Dopo degli inizi piuttosto discutibili e un album per nulla bello "Enema of the State" e un carino "Take Off Your Pants And Jacket, fortunatamente sono stati abbandonati quelle canzoni irritabili (i singoli per capirci), anche se uno lo riprende guarda caso un singolo "Stay Together for the Kids" anche se, risulta meno irritante.
I Blink hanno la bella idea e, direi che era anche ora di cambiare genere, per carità non siamo di fronte a un cambiamento cosi drastico, come era successo per i Sum 41 con il bellissimo "Chuck" anche se, la differenza con i precedenti album e, questo si fa sentire non poco.
L'album è meno scazzato, e le atmosfere si fanno cupe, la voce di Tom fortunatamente è meno brutta e irritante, anche se i due colleghi, non cambiano il modo di cantare, magari era meglio se la voce dei due fosse stata più aggressiva e, questo è un peccato, forse l'unica pecca del disco.
Il lato più cupo lo si sente con "All of this" e la ballata e singolo "I Miss You" canzone abbastanza bella e si può anche dire "nuova" per questo gruppo e, finalmente diversa rispetto alle "What's My Age Again" e "Adam's Song" e questo fa piacere.
Bella e sperimentale per "Obvious" che si apre con delle belle chitarre pesanti che, ricordano un po al metal, forse una delle più riuscite dell'intero disco "Violence" bello il duetto di Tom e Mark che risulta abbastanza inquietante, in senso buono questa volta.
Non mancano canzoni, che ricordano ai lavori precedenti, anche se qui risultano, molto più elaborate e energiche, "Feeling This", "Stockholm Syndrome" , e "Go" di sicuro le più coinvolgenti.
Anche se il premio per la migliore dell'album anzi, dell'intera discografia va a "Easy Target", con un intro di batteria e, un ritornello che dire fantastiche è poco, e non è facile fartele togliere dalla testa.
Secondo me quest'album è il migliore dei Blink, il cambio di genere e di maturazione da parte della band, non è affatto trascurabile, una bella evoluzione sonora da parte del gruppo, il mio voto finale è certamente positivo, anche se il successivo risulterà essere molto strano ma, allo stesso tempo godibile anche se, non è di certo alla pari di questo.
