Premetto che questa recensione sarà piuttosto corta visto che quest'audio-cassetta contiene 4 canzoni.
Essendo tutta autoprodotta questa opera presenta una registrazione abbastanza grezza, anche se i Coal Chamber non sono famosi per la qualità dell'audio.
La prima canzone, come anche nel primo album del 1997, è la ormai famosa "Loco" che rispetto alla canzone di 3 anni dopo risulta completamente diversa a partire dalla voce ancora giovane del cantante Dez Fafara. Questa traccia presenta inoltre una diversità pure nella strumentazione, infatti diverse parti di chitarra sono prolungate, mentre altre sono ridotte. Insomma, ascoltabile se non fosse per la voce molto sforzata del cantante.
La seconda traccia di questa demo è "Babbit"; questa è la canzone che preferisco del disco, che nonostante i punti precedenti risulta una delle migliori della band, che ricorda molto (per i più giovincelli) una qualsiasi canzone di "Cannibal" degli Static-X.
Arriviamo successivamente a "My Frustation" che, a mio parere, influenza molto lo stile di album successivi come "Chamber Music" con il ritmo lento e la voce roca, classica del vocalist.
L'ultima traccia è "Broken" che per trovare ho dovuto scavare nei bassifondi di siti di torrent; questa è secondo me la canzone meno significativa dell'album, forse anche per questo è stata oscurata dalle altre; non rispetta le solite caratteristiche dei Coal Chamber che tutti conosciamo, lasciando esterrefatto pure me.
Insomma, spero che questa "Quick Review" vi sia piaciuta e vi faccia venire sempre più voglia di ascoltare i Coal Chamber, band che rappresenta il nu metal in tutte le sue caratteristiche.
