Ciao di nuovo a tutti, sono ancora The Alexander e son qui per scrivere una nuova recensione sui Dokken, per il loro album di inizio carriera; siamo nei primi anni Ottanta quando il mondo del rock da alla luce un nuovo figlioccio, una melodia non nuova ma comunque apprezzabile: questi sono i Dokken che esordiscono con questo "Breaking The Chains" che non è affatto male, anzi a me piace moltissimo, certo ancora privo di una produzione eccellente, ma ben accetto.
Passiamo al disco: la prima traccia si apre con la title track, vale a dire "Breaking The Chains" che è uno dei pezzi più belli del disco se non il più bello, con quell'atmosfera estiva, che mi fa pensare ad un viaggio notturno verso la California, all'aria aperta con il vento che ti fa muovere i capelli, eccezziuunale!
La seconda è "In The Middle" che spacca il culo a tutti con questa melodia fantastica e un ritornello trascinante e la voce di Don che è sempre bella al punto giusto senza sbavature.
La terza e quarta traccia sono anche loro carine, questo per dire che la fantasia certo non manca ai Dokken nel fare bei pezzi che prendono dall'inizio alla fine, ("Felony", "I can't See You").
La quinta traccia è "Live To Rock", un'esplosione di hard 'n' heavy da tutti i pori, un grande pezzo alla faccia di chi dice che i Dokken non erano in grado di sfornare pezzi potenti e veloci, da ricredersi.
Passiamo poi alla sesta e alla settima traccia, "Nightrider" e "Seven Thunders", due pezzi molto gradevoli, nulla di nuovo ma comunque di alto livello in pieno stile Dokken.
L'ottava e la nona sono molto più entusiasmanti per ritmo e melodia combinati al punto giusto, sempre secondo me, i pezzi in questione sono, ("Young Girls" e "Stick To Your Guns"), poi ultima traccia "Paris is Burning" che si non è male, ma per quanto riguarda me è un pezzo del tutto normalissimo, non trascina più di tanto ma comunque ascoltabilissimo e molto orecchiabile.
I Dokken iniziano bene la loro carriera dando alla luce un buon disco, ma la loro caratteristica è quella di non aver mai scritto brani complessi, ma sempre molto semplici nella composizione e non hanno mai scritto brani lunghi ma sempre dentro la norma ed è anche per questo che mi piacciono un botto a me e ad altre tantissime credo; la semplicità non sempre ma quasi ti porta ad avere successo e perché no anche a scrivere pezzi bellissimi con un significato, qui ovviamente parlo in generale non solo dei Dokken, basta vedere band come i grandissimi AC/DC, che con il loro semplicissimo rock and roll hanno conquistato le orecchie di molti ascoltatori e ancora tuttoggi sono una delle band più amate al mondo, per chiudere voglio dire.
Ancora grandi Dokken e per i lettori: ascoltatevi se non l'avete ancora fatto questo album non ve ne pentirete, ne vale davvero la pena anche se non è nulla di innovativo per l'epoca.
