Il power metal: Bizzarra ramificazione del metal. Consiste nella ricerca di un suono spesso melodico "powerizzato" dalla batteria spesso spalata in doppia cassa.
Molti gruppi, nel passare degli anni, hanno cercato di imitare i patriarchi di questa categoria senza portare innovazione e creando sicuramente qualcosa di banale e scontato.
Ma per i Dragonforce è diverso.
Questa power band PROVENIENTE DALL'INGHILTERRA!!! ha sconvolto tutte le convenzioni del power creando il misto melodia/potenza/estrema velocità.
Il loro esordio rappresenta al meglio lo stile musicalle della band
Valley of the Damned parte con un intro molto particolare: è devastante, contiene 13 secondi di puro malmenamento (almeno non hanno fatto il solito intro con la tastiera di molti altri gruppi che, dicendo la verità salto sempre, ma penso anche voi vero?! (la risposta è scontata)
"Valley Of The Damned" è una fantastica canzone un'ottima apertura come è ottima la prova vocale che ZP compie raggiungendo toni altissimi.
Sussegue "Black Fire". Un voto? 10/10! Bella, veloce ed emozionante
"Black Winter Night" è un ottimo pezzo direttamente translto dall'Ep con le demo assieme a "Revelations"
"Starfire" e "Evening Star" sono tra le stelle più luminose di questo album (capito il giochetto di parole?... (: )
E arriviamo al clue: con le canzoni precendenti vi saranno già venuti dei brividi da paura ma con queste due canzoni l'emozione arriverà a livelli massimi!!!!

DragonForce sono parecchio martellati per la loro poca originalità e per l'esagerazione nella velocità di esecuzione.
'Black Fire' è una canzone da mal di testa sin dal primo secondo, mentre 'Starfire' è una ballad rilassante con voce celestiale.
