Detto fatto. Dopo una parentesi nelle Breeders di Kim Deal, la bella Tanya si mette in proprio e fonda le Belly e fa il botto. Il loro debutto esce nel 1993, in pieno post Nevermind, e le sue ammalianti melodie fanno centro. Il video di "feed the tree" prende persino una nomination agli mtv awards sfidando le corazzate grunge dell'epoca.
