I Fujiya e Miyagi, al contrario di quanto possa suggerire il nome, sono un trio scozzese che suona indie-elettronica. In altre parole, musica elettronica (specialmente beat, tastiere e effetti sonori vari) su cui si adagiano chitarra e basso "live" e la suadente voce sussurrata del cantante David Best.
A dirla così non sembra un granchè di mix, eppure la maestria dei Fujiya e Miyagi nel dosare le componenti "indie" e "elettroniche" è tale da fare di questo album un Signor Disco.
Un disco che brilla dal punto di vista compositivo/musicale e che, soprattutto, diverte moltissimo. E che con disinvoltura passa da brani poppeggianti, dal ritmo incalzante e con un hook a cui è impossibile sfuggire ("In One Ear & Out The Other"), a strumentali quasi "sperimentali" di 6 minuti e passa in cui sopra ai beat elettronici si alternano in continuazione percussioni, irresistibili giri di basso e sintetizzatori ("Cassettesingle").
Dal fulminante crescendo della opener "Ankle Injuries" al conclusivo chill-out di "Cylinders" non si rimane mai delusi. "Transparent Things" parte capolavoro e finisce capolavoro. Lasciarselo sfuggire sarebbe un vero peccato.
