Scrivo questa rece per ridimensionare, almeno in parte, "Keeper of The Seven Keys Part 1".
Non fraintendendetemi; questo è un bell'album, ed è stato il primo disco metal che ho comprato (e quindi ho con questo un legame particolare); ma faccio molta fatica a considerarlo un "capolavoro assoluto", forse perchè odio la voce di Kiske, forse perchè semplicemente l'Happy metal non fa per me.
Dopo un Intro molto curato parte "I'M Alive", che posso i tutta tranquillità definire come la canzone migliore mai scritta dagli Helloween: è potente, immediata e, soprattutto, non contiene la puerilità e la spensieratezza della seguente "A Little Time" e della sesta "Future World", song esaltanti e belle senza dubbio, ma che non lasciano nulla dopo l'ascolto. Di tutt'altro stampo "Twilight of the Gods" e "Helloween", la prima molto simile ad I'M Alive mentre la seconda, forse un pò troppo lunga, si compone di numerosi assoli e diverse melodie.
Una menzione a parte merita "A Tale that Wasn't Right" per essere la peggiore ballata che abbia mai ascoltato: è scontata, noiosa, ripetitiva e chi più ne ha ne metta (le grandi ballate epiche dei Blind Guardian sono ad anni luce). Scandalosa, inoltre, la scarsezza dei brani (6!) rapportata al prezzo (20E!)
In conclusione, se amate gli Helloween dovete comprarlo immediatamente, se ascoltate principalmente Black o Death non compratelo per nessun motivo! Potreste andare in contro a: paralisi delle appendici (tutte!), gastriti anomale, coma, morte!
A tutti quelli che non appartengono a queste due categorie: prendetelo se è in sconto!
