Altro gruppo, altra novità dalla fredda Europa. Anche in questo caso parliamo di svedesi, precisamente di Uppsala, ma residenti a Stoccolma. Il genere di questo album è indefinito: dance, chill-out, jazz soprattutto. E proprio questo il genere dei Koop. (si esatto con il punto! se ce lo hanno messo ci sarà un motivo...), al loro secondo lavoro, dopo l'album d'esordio "Sons Of Koop" (1997), pubblicato in tempi ancora acerbi per esplodere; tempi in cui St.Germain non si sapeva ancora chi fosse... Ed infatti si rifanno molto a Ludovic Navarre; Magnus Zingmark e Oscar Simonsson possono definirsi come dei compositori-arrangiatori-produttori, che fanno del modern-jazz il loro marchio di fabbrica. Il loro stile è così pulito e unico, che rischiano quasi di oscurare il deejay francese: rischiano quasi di creare un nuovo trend musicale, quasi come i Röyksopp. Forse è proprio la fredda Europa che ispira alla buona musica. Walz For Koop, come tutti gli album che si rispettano, conta di numerose collaborazioni: Terry Callier, vocal in "In A Heartbeat", Cecilia Stalin vocal in "Waltz For koop", brano di apertura dell'album, un misto di elettronica e jazz moderno, fino a Yukimi Nagano, vocal nel pezzo di chiusura "Bright Nights". Degne di nota "Baby" e "Summer Sun". Insomma il giusto mix di elettronica e jazz che farà molto parlare dei Koop.
