Dopo 4 album sperimentali renewal con influenze industriali del 1992, il potentissimo "Cause For Conflict" (1995) il cupo e darkeggiante "Outcastdel" (1997) e il gothico "Endorama" del (1999) i Kreator ritornano nel 2001 al genere che li aveva resi famosi in tutto il mondo: il thrash metal, con il nuovo album "Violent Revolution".
Già il titolo dice tutto, "rivoluzione violenta", ebben sì i Kreator ritornano a spaccare i nostri stereo con questo favoloso album che inizia con la stupenda canzone "Reconquering The Throne" e dalle prime note possiamo capire che è una canzone tipica dei Kreator, inizio brutale veloce si placa nella parte centrale dove troviamo dei bellisssimi intrecci di chitarre molto melodiche ed infine abbiamo la ripartenza finale con le grandissime sfuriate di Ventor in doppia cassa.
Si passa a "The Patrirach" bellissima introduzione a "Violent Revolution" che sfoggia un bellissimo ritornello con la classica voce rabbiosa di Mille e la trovo molto ideale da cantare a squarciagola nei concerti.
In seguito troviamo la potentissima "All Of The Same Blood" canzone potentissima ke comincia con un riff d'antologia e nella canzone possiamo sentire le urla di mille accompagnate dalla solita batteria tritaossa di Ventor e quando la canzone sembra poter farci recuperare fiato ecco l'urlo di Petrozza ke da al via ad una specie di assolo di batteria di Ventor che vi consiglio di gustarlo nel dvd e che mi ha lasciato a bocca aperta.
Dopo troviamo "Servant In Heaven King In Hell" che inizia con uno squisito giro di basso. Seguita "Second Awakening" una sorta di continuo della mitica "Awakening Of The Gods". Ne segue "Ghetto War" che mantiente l'album sempre a livelli molto elevati, da notare la parte vocale di Mille che sprigiona urli allucinanti, ed arriviamo a "Replicas Of Life" che all'inizio parte con la voce pulita di Mille stile "Endorama" e uno pensa che sia una canzone tranquilla invece esplode e risulta una canzone molto potente e rabbiosa e da notare anche l'assolo di chitarra molto bello, dunque arriviamo alle ultime canzoni ovvero "Bitter Sweet Revenge" che inizia con un notevolissimo pezzo di batteria e procede con un riff granitico che sembra quasi uscito da "Cause For Conflict", dopo troviamo "Mind On Fire", la penultima canzone "Mind On Fire" con elementi che richiamano lo stile di "Outcast" ed infine la violentissima "System Decay" con dei riff micidiali stile death metal, le urla strazianti di Mille la batteria di Ventor che ci martella anche in questa canzone.
Questo album vanta anche di una produzione eccellente grazie all'ottimo lavoro di Andy Sneap che dà un pizzico di modernità al sound che lo rende ancora più potente. Infine vorrei sottolineare la bravura di Petrozza % co. di creare una perfetta miscela tra il nuovo sound acquisito dagli album sperimentali del 90 e il thrash ruvido e violento degli anni 80 creando un disco micidiale.
