Prendi il lettore, mettici "Another Day" e chiudi gli occhi. Lene per tutto il disco non farà altro che ammaliare con la sua grazia, la sua voce da fatina e la sua chitarra pizzicata con tanta cura, come se pizzicasse te, sono passati quattro anni dopo il megasuccesso di "Playing My Game", grande disco pop di fine millennio e ora "Another Day", una sorta di cronaca della sua depressione post- troppo successo. Non si possono in effetti non cogliere i momenti dark e scarni delle sue canzoncine, anche quando imperversa il pop (l'iniziale "Another Day", forse la peggiore canzone del disco, avente una melodia un po' banale e radiofonica che avrebbe potuto scriverla chiunque, "You Weren't There", primo singolo di assoluta bellezza con ritornello acchiappatutti nonostante la sua tristezza e il quasi rock di "Disease", nel cui ritornello Lene afferma di stare bene, ma noi sappiamo che non è così). I testi parlano di amori finiti (il trip hop inquietante di "Fighting Against The Hours", in cui una Lene al limite del cupo combatte contro il tempo perchè il suo innamorato si è scordato di lei), delusioni ("You Weren't There", la splendida "Faces",con un'intimismo solitario e dolcissimo che ammalia, seduce) e morte (la conclusiva "Story", da dedicare a qualcuno che non c'è più e poi, "My Love", grande canzone d'amore commuovente e scarna composta dalla sola chitarra acustica e dalla voce della Marlin... dedicatela al vostro ragazzo o alla vostra ragazza, vi sposerà! In conclusione, "Another Day" è un disco bellissimo, scarno e che fa male, entra nella pelle come un ago e non lascia scampo, ma è anche pericoloso per coloro che si erano innamorati del primo album, che desolato non era. In questo capitolo, ascoltandolo, si può benissimo immaginare la sua Norvegia infestata dagli spettri e Lene che canta in una baita davanti al fuocherello, continuando a sussurrarti nell'orecchio.

La vocetta, che la rendono piccola piccola, ma molto molto... vera!
Molte canzoni di Another Day... sono quelle che ascolto in solitudine che non faccio sentire ai miei amici, quelle di cui non parlo mai perché sono così intime per me.

Dopo quattro anni di assenza [...] Lene Marlin ritorna nel 2003 con 'Another Day'.
Non mi appare un disco di eccezionale caratura [...] sembra scivolare via senza lasciare segni e scadere, a tratti, nel più totale anonimato.
