A tanti risulta ignota, ma Lita Ford, negli anni '80 era molto popolare, sia per le sue doti musicali, sia per la sua bellezza (eh sì, è davvero una bonazza!), sia per le sue note relazioni con Nikki Sixx, Tony Iommi, Chris Holmes e via dicendo. Dopo lo scioglimento del gruppo glam/punk delle Runaways (ove militava anche Joan Jett), Lita si dà ad una carriera propria, sfornando dischi bellissimi in bilico tra hard rock e hair metal. Il lavoro in questione, "Lita", è quello più gettonato ed alcuni singoli estratti hanno fatto un vasto giro sulle emittenti musicali statunitensi in quel periodo.
Tra i brani più salienti spicca "Kiss Me Deadly", una canzone energica con il solito testo stile "Ti amo! Mi fai impazzire!", ma musicalmente è ineccepibile e Lita si rivela anche una brava chitarrista (l'assolo è stupendo). Da menzionare anche "Can't Catch Me", brano possente scritto dalla Ford con Bob Ezrin (noto produttore di Alice Cooper e Kiss) e l'inossidabile Lemmy Kilmister dei Motorhead. "Falling in and Out of Love" è un'altra grande ballad (il video idem, ove Lita esibisce le sue forme sinuose), ove tra i crediti compare anche l'allora fidanzato Nikki Sixx (infatti, si dice che il brano venne scritto dai due sotto l'effetto di stupefacenti e che parli proprio della loro relazione). La conclusiva "Close My Eyes Forever" vede la Ford duettare proprio con lui, quel pazzoide di Ozzy Osbourne (quando era un vero artista, altro che l'attuale pantofolaio rincoglionito dei "The Osbournes").
Un album sconsigliato ai detrattori degli anni '80 e a chi odia il rock caratterizzato da rossetti e make up, ma per gli amanti di quella corrente chiamata hair metal è un disco tutto da avere. Chissà se la nostra Lita si deciderà a tornare al lavoro (il suo ultimo disco "Black" è datato 1994), anche se negli ultimi anni si è fatta viva facendo qualche apparizione in vari dischi, specie in "A Twisted Christmas" dei Twisted Sister nel 2006.
