The Shins sono una band indie rock statunitense formata ad Albuquerque (New Mexico) da James Mercer nel 1996. Hanno esordito con Oh, Inverted World (2001, Sub Pop), seguita da Chutes Too Narrow (2003) e Wincing the Night Away (2007). Dopo il passaggio ad Aural Apothecary/Columbia hanno pubblicato Port Of Morrow (2012) e Heartworms (2017).
